Sheffield's Sustainable Development and Design Panel 

The Sustainable Development and Design Panel was launched in November 2009.  The Panel is an independent body comprising professionals from a wide range of fields including sustainability experts, architects, urban designers and landscape architects. The Panel meets on a 5 week cycle, reviewing development proposals, pre-application schemes and planning applications; providing design advice that will be a material consideration in the City Council's statutory planning function in determining planning applications
 
 

Sustainability Guidance

A web based guide has been developed to encourage sustainable development within Sheffield, providing a series of questions that should be addressed in the design of developments within the city.
 
 

Sheffield Urban Design Compendium

A design guide for the whole of the City Centre has been produced. This provides guidance on how the on-going regeneration of the City Centre can be design led and sets a standard for architectural design and the quality of the public realm.
 
 

Building for Life

The Building for Life (BfL) model of residential design excellence is being used in Sheffield as our quality standard for measuring residential development proposals
