The Sheffield Urban Design Review Panel was launched in October 2006. The panel is an independant body reviewing pre-application schemes and applications and providing design advice that will be a material consideration in the City Council's statutory planning function in determining planning applications.
A web based guide has been developed to encourage sustainable development within Sheffield
A design guide for the whole of the City Centre has been produced. This provides guidance on how the on-going regeneration of the City Centre can be design led and sets a standard for architectural design and the quality of the public realm.
