Statement of Community Involvement
The Council sets out its approach to community involvement in planning in a statement that forms part of the Sheffield Development Framework. This is called the Statement of Community Involvement or SCI. The Statement says how we are consulting people and organisations on the preparation of the Sheffield Development Framework and also on planning applications. If you have any queries about the SCI please contact Ben Benest on (0114) 273 4212 or e-mail sdf@sheffield.gov.uk.
An independent inspector examined the soundness of the SCI following its submission to the Secretary of State on 12 May 2006. Her report dated 17 August 2006 recommended changes to the submitted SCI that were binding on the Council. Therefore, the SCI was revised to incorporate these recommended changes before being adopted by the Council on 29 September 2006.

Please note that the SCI does not contain precise dates for when consultations will be held on Sheffield Development Framework documents. These dates are available in the Local Development Scheme.
