Core Strategy Examination

 

Public examination

A public examination is being held to enable an independent inspector to test the soundness of the Sheffield Core Strategy. In assessing whether the document is sound the inspector will consider any representations which have been duly made.  She is appointed by the Secretary of State.
                  
The examination opened formally on Tuesday 8th April 2008, for three weeks of hearings.  Further hearing sessions will be held in September, beginning on Monday 8th September.
 

Inspector

The First Secretary of state has appointed Shelagh Bussey DipTP, DipEM, MA, PhD, MRTPI as Inspector for this examination.  Her role is to consider all the evidence and produce a report for the Council giving her recommendations for action.  This report will be binding on the Council.
 

Programme Officer

The examination process will be administered by the Programme Officer, Carmel Edwards.  Ms Edwards is independent of the Council, and works directly to the Inspector.  Any correspondence or other queries about the process should be directed to her c/o the Programme Office.
