Core Strategy
The Core Strategy is the first of the planning documents of the Sheffield Development Framework. Its purpose is to answer the question "At a strategic level, what is going to happen where and how is it going to happen?" It sets out the overall vision, objectives and spatial strategy and policies for Sheffield over the period to 2026.
We consulted on Emerging Options for the Core Strategy in the summer of 2005, on Preferred Options for the Core Strategy during February-April 2006, and on Additional Options for the Core Strategy in February-March 2007.
The Core Strategy was submitted to the Secretary of State on Friday 28 September 2007, and is now being examined by an independent Planning Inspector.
Find out about the Examination of the Core Strategy.
We have now published New Policies which are possible changes to the submission Core Strategy.
Site Allocation Representations related to the submitted Core Strategy are now available for comment.
