Planning Documents - Planning Policies, Guidance and Reports
A wide range of planning documents are available through Sheffield City Council’s Development Services.
- The Unitary Development Plan (UDP) is the statutory development plan for Sheffield, adopted in March 1998.
- Please note that under the new Planning Act the Regional Spatial Strategy for Yorkshire and Humber now forms part of the statutory development plan for Sheffield. Read the Regional Spatial Strategy. Find details of the 2009 Update of the RSS.
- Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) is available for a range of topics and areas. Find details of approved Supplementary Planning Guidance.
- Eventually, the Unitary Development Plan and Supplementary Planning Guidance will be replaced by the Sheffield Development Framework (SDF).
- Other information about planning is also available.
- Masterplans and Background Reports are available such as topic studies, surveys, local masterplans and interim planning guidance.
