Neighbourhood Regeneration
Sheffield is undergoing a huge amount of transformation in the city centre, but you may not realise that this is also happening in many of the city's residential areas too.
On these pages you can read about Sheffield's three regeneration areas, or 'Area Development Frameworks' (North, South and East). These are designated areas in the city where housing regeneration projects are taking place. You can also visit the Park Hill page, which gives details of the huge project to transform the Park Hill estate which is being undertaken. Scowerdons, Weakland and Newstead (SWaN) is outside of the Area Development Framework, however these estates are also being regenerated and there is information on this. Information on housing regeneration in the South Yorkshire region is available on the Transform South Yorkshire website.
At the bottom of this page you can download the guidance document about successful and sustainable neighbourhoods. This is a great introduction to the housing market renewal programme in Sheffield and how design quality is at the heart of the approach we take.
