Manor Site 8 Development
Vision
The vision for Manor Site 8 is to transform an area of former Council housing into a private for sale development, including affordable homes for sale. The quality of the architectural and urban design will be of such a standard as to make this site suitable as a benchmark for further developments in the area.
The new development should:
- Increase the range of housing choice and quality locally
- Strengthen a stable, mixed tenure area in the wider market
- Raise values and attract new residents to the area
- Set a benchmark for future housing in the City in terms of innovation, design quality and environmental performance.
- Evidence the wider regeneration impacts and legacy that can be achieved by the new development.
Quality Standards
As a benchmark development, Manor Site 8 will incorporate the following quality standards:
- 25% affordable units
- Building for Life Silver Standard
- EcoHomes Very Good
- Lifetime and Mobility Homes
- Secured By Design principles throughout the site
- Showcase for Environmental Sustainability
On 22nd November 2006, cabinet approved the sale of Manor 8 to Lovell Partnerships Ltd of the large Developer Panel as a site for the construction of housing.
