Pay for your planning services online
You can now pay for most planning services (including planning applications) by using your debit or credit card. You will have to contact us by phone on 0114 273 4220 to use this facility. Please have your card details ready.
Who provides this service?
We have teamed up with WorldPay to bring this service to you. Worldpay, a leading Internet payment company and part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, provides the secure site for taking your payment details. This means that at no time are your debit card details stored by the Council. For further details about security, see 'Is it safe?' at the foot of this page.
If you are able to supply us with an e-mail address, you will get e-mail confirmation of your payment, otherwise a receipt will be posted to you.
Which Cards Can I Use?
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my card is refused?
Cards are not refused by Sheffield City Council - they are refused by your bank. There are many reasons why this may happen and we suggest you contact your bank directly.
How long should it take for the money to come out of my account once I have made a payment using your on-line service?
This varies by bank, but on average this takes up to two days.
Can I get a receipt?
If you provide us with an email address, WorldPay will send you a receipt when your payment is authorised. Otherwise a receipt will be posted to you.
Is it safe?
We enter your details into a secure site, provided by WorldPay, a recognised world leader in Internet payments.
Your card details will be stored on a secure server at WorldPay. The Council will never have access to these details once they have been submitted.
WorldPay makes sure that your details are protected by using encryption. This takes your details and changes them into a coded message so that your details are unrecognisable as they go through the Internet.
WorldPay's public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, guaranteeing that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.
The only information WorldPay gives back to the Council is the transaction reference number, the amount paid and the contact details you entered in case we have to get in touch with you.
The security is provided by WorldPay and more details are available if you go to their website.
