Online Applications
Make sure you have downloaded a copy of the local planning application requirements checklists and guidance notes for the application you want before making an online application.
Then follow this link to the Planning Portal, where you can complete and submit an application online.
The Planning Portal is the name of the government-sponsored national web site for all planning matters.
The online planning service is quicker and more efficient for you. It has a number of benefits over applying with paper forms.
- There is no need to pay postage compared with the paper service.
- You will be able to order and pay for a location plan online.
- You can pay the planning application fees online.
- You can add any attachments to the application all at the same time.
- Save paper – no need to waste time and money printing paper copies.
- The Council’s planning department is immediately notified that the application has been submitted.
- The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
When you submit an online application, we receive an email notifying us, it is then checked against our validation criteria and handled as any other planning application.
Where an application includes large numbers of drawings and/or supporting submissions, it may be necessary to provide paper copies. The planning service will try to keep these to a minimum, but must also meet the needs of consultees and the general public. This can be agreed in advance.
We now publish all new application material on the web and allow you to track your application online to see what stage it is at you can view details of this at planning applications online.
You can submit documents electronically if you wish. Please see the guidance note at the foot of this page for more information.
