The regeneration of Sheffield is an important planning consideration. Please include a supporting statement of any regeneration benefits from the proposed development, including: details of any new jobs that might be created or supported; the relative floorspace totals for each proposed use (where known); any community benefits; and refer to any regeneration strategies that might lie behind or be supported by the proposal.
Although the Council may be actively involved in these regeneration initiatives, do not assume that the officers assessing your application necessarily know all these details. Remember that it is also helpful for members of the public looking at the application to have these benefits drawn to their attention. This is particularly important where the application includes non-employment uses in areas currently allocated for industry and business uses.
