Heritage Statement - Listed Building

Picture of a Listed Building
The Council has issued separate guidance on what information needs to be submitted as part of either a Listed Building Application or an Application for Conservation Area Consent

The Downloads section at the bottom of this page includes links to the Council's published guidance on the preparation of a supporting Listed Building Statement.
Where total or partial demolition of a Listed Building is proposed, a statement of justification will be required; for guidance on the preparation of such a statement, please refer to the Listed Building Demolition Criteria.

Where Listed Building or Conservation Area Consent are required, and it is impossible to assess any related planning applications without proper consideration of the heritage issues, it will be a requirement to submit all the necessary applications together. When the council has to consult English Heritage, it is useful to be aware of their guidance on what information is needed to accompany consultations with English Heritage. This illustrates the quality of submission required to process heritage applications as quickly as possible.

Conservation Area boundaries can be seen on Sheffield's Unitary Development Plan Maps, where it is also intended to soon show all Listed Buildings as well.  Further advice can be obtained from Urban Design and Conservation team.
