Code of Conduct and Delegated Schemes
The following links display details on the code of conduct for Council members and officers in relation to Town Planning matters.
A document containing information on powers delegated to planning officers is also attached to this page. These are both extracts from the City Council's Constitution ("Part 5 - Codes and Protocols" and "Appendices - Band 'B' Officer Delegations").
A declaration form for lobbying is also attached to this page; it must be completed by board members after any approach by developers, objectors or other interested parties with regard to planning proposals. After completion, this form needs to be passed to the Head of Planning.
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) recently made changes to the model national code of conduct for local authority members, which can be adopted by Councils from May 2007.
Code of Conduct for Board Members
The Council adopted a revised Code of Conduct in October 2007 together with the standards guide for England's members, May 2007.
