The Upper Don Valley/Policies and Programmes Team has overall responsibility for co-ordination of resource bidding for regeneration and for the delivery of programmes and projects in the Upper Don Valley. The Team also liases with adjacent Councils on major projects within the South Yorkshire Technology Corridor.

Provides overall management of Policies & Programmes activities. Promotion of appropriate new development in the South Yorkshire Technology Corridor. Represents division/authority at Chief Executive’s Economic Policy Group & South Yorkshire Technology Corridor Partnership respectively. Lead responsibility for Sheffield’s contribution to the Regional Economic Strategy and of the South Yorkshire Investment Plan, and the regeneration strategy programme for the Upper Don Valley area of the City.

Lead officer and DC liaison for the regeneration strategy and project implementation in the Upper Don Valley. The area includes Neepsend Gateway, Parkwood Springs, Hillfoot Riverside, Education & Leisure Cluster, Owlerton & Wadsley Bridge and Claywheels Lane. Liaison officer for Yorkshire Forward’s Clusters initiative and the Regional Economic Strategy. Working closely with Sheffield First for investment, Renaissance South Yorkshire, Yorkshire Forward and English Partnerships.
