A Silver Gilt Vase and Cover

Silver gilt vase with cover
The lip with beaded and convoluted mount and the plain shaped body enriched with finely chased acanthus leaves. The handles fashioned to form entwined snakes. Supported on a pedestal foot, with fan fluting and acanthus leaf decoration. The domed cover with repousse fluting and surmounted by a fruit finial. Emblazoned with the Heraldic Arms of the City of Sheffield and of H.K. Stephenson. The vase is furnished with a walnut plinth.
 

Inscription:


"Presented to the Corporation of Sheffield by Alderman HK Stephenson, J.P., at the close of his year of office as Lord Mayor, 9th November, 1909."
