Cancellations

The Cutlers Hotel
When an accommodation reservation is made, both parties enter into a legally binding contract. At the time of making a reservation you may be asked to provide details of a credit or debit card, which will be used to guarantee your booking, alternatively, you may be asked to forward a deposit. In return, you should confirm the details of any cancellation policy operated by the establishment.

In very general terms, if you make a reservation at any establishment which is not cancelled by you, but you do not arrive at the establishment as agreed (commonly called a 'no-show') you are liable for some or all of the value of the original reservation which the management of the establishment has a legal right to recover from you.

Therefore, if, after making a reservation your plans change, it is important that you notify the establishment as soon as possible. Similarly, if your plans change once you have arrived at an establishment, i.e. if you need to depart earlier than originally agreed, it is imperative that you speak to the management at the earliest opportunity. If the room you have booked remains empty, after having made all reasonable efforts to re-let the accommodation, the management may have a legal right to recover costs from you.
