Flockton Wood is a mixed broadleaved plantation established in the 1970's as part of Flockton Park. It is currently managed by Sheffield Homes.

The site provides a significant area of open space, with small areas of woodland, mainly along the park boundaries. There is an extensive network of paths within the park, though few currenly run within the trees. Several old hedgerows can be found, some now hidden within the woodlands.

The park and woodlands are within easy reach of local residents from Woodhouse, Woodhouse Mill and Handsworth and is generally well used.

A new 5 year Draft Management Plan is being researched and written in 2006. This is currently open for public consultation, with a view to beginning management work in 2007.
