Parks & Open Space Standards

Flower Display
The Parks and Countryside section are responsible for the general operational management and day-to-day maintenance of the various city, district and local parks distributed across Sheffield.

The City Parks have a dedicated team of staff who pride themselves in delivering a high standard of horticultural maintenance.

Mobile gardening teams regularly visit all other sites to ensure that the defined standards are maintained at district and local parks.

Our gardening staff ensure that the quality and range of horticultural features are all maintained appropriately, such as:

  • grass areas
  • litter collection
  • flower and shrub beds
  • hedges
  • playgrounds
  • outdoor sports facilities

Standards of cleanliness and health and safety are achieved by regular inspection.

A further breakdown and summary of the areas covered by the Parks and Countryside Section is available by following the Parks Maintenance Standards link.
