Hillsborough Park
We have a number of sites throughout the city where fishing is available. 
 
On this page you will find a list of sites where you are able to fish, details about restricted sites, and other useful information about personal safety and codes of conduct when fishing. 
 
 
 
 

Fishing Sites - Free

The following is a list of sites where fishing is currently free (Please Note: All anglers still need a current EA rod licence):
 
  • Arbourthorne Pond – Eastern Avenue, Arbourthorne, Sheffield 2
  • Crookes Valley Dam – Crookes Valley Road, Crookesmoor, Sheffield 10
  • Frecheville Pond – Hopedale Road, Frecheville, Sheffield 12
  • Graves Park – Hemsworth Road, Norton Woodseats, Sheffield 8
  • Hillsborough Park – Parkside Road, Hillsborough, Sheffield 6
  • Rivelin Valley – Rivelin Valley Road, Rivelin, Sheffield 6

No Fishing Sites

Fishing is not permitted at any other ponds and lakes, managed by Parks, Woodlands and Countryside services, including the Local Nature Reserve in Shire Brook Valley.
 

Personal Safety and Codes of Conduct

Here are a few useful tips:
  
  • Always notify someone of where you intend to fish and what time you are expected to return
 

          Overhead Power Cables - Be Aware - Look Up!

  • Never fish within 50 metres of any electric power lines
  • Never forget you can be electrocuted even if your rod or pole does not actually touch a power line-watch out!
  • Look out for warning signs
