Firth Park Today

Childrens Playground in Firth Park

Improvements

First Start Centre

Over the recent years there has been exciting improvements in Firth Park.  The new First Start building was completed in 2005, and received a RIBA Yorkshire White Rose Award for Excellence in Architecture as a result of its sustainable design approach.  It is now home to a Sure Start Nursery, meeting room, exhibition space, public toilets and cafe.

Playgrounds

At the top of the park there are now new playgrounds for toddlers and juniors and the new planting, paving and lighting, along with the new teen shelter, have proved to be a great success.

Around the Park

One of the current projects is The Round Walk, designed to provide a safe and interesting circuit round the park.  This has involved the installation of wooden sculptures and 4 mosaics (one of which depicts The Clock Tower).

As you wander around the park you will notice that the mini football pitches have been resurfaced as a result of funding secured from Evolve EB.  The pitches receive a tremendous amount of use particularly in the summer months.
