The Green City Days event is set to take place in Sheffield in Hillsborough Park on the Bank holiday weekend of 25th / 26th of May 2008 and we're looking for organisations to participate with a stall.
The event is intended to be an interactive showcase of healthy, Environmental and ethical practises aimed at the general public. The project is a partnership between Green City Action and the Parks and Countryside department of Sheffield City Council, with additional support from the Streetforce department of Sheffield City Council and a marketing campaign from the Sheffield Newspapers Group.
Green City Action has been producing a wide variety of successful family orientated events in the Sheffield area for over nine years now. One of which has been our local Burngreave community based Environment Day. This event has grown steadily over the last four years from 300 plus people on the first event to over 3,000 this year. The attendance throughout our events last year was over 30,000 people. The proposed Green City Day's event will attract numbers of 20,000 plus over two days in a centrally located park in the city.
The event will be host to numerous attractions such as:
Green Music stage
Interactive Green Treasure hunt for kids
Childrens activity area.
Learning maze
Heely City Farm and the South Yorkshire Energy centre on site
Sports and games with activity sheffield
Cycling area with Pedal Ready
Bio Disel powered funfair rides
Hand powered rides
Circus skills workshops and performance
Story telling sessions and craft workshops in the Library on site
Local produce and farmers trading markets
Information stands on green issuses and products
We are now looking for traders, workshops, activity groups, exhibitors and gardeners etc. to compliment our existing groups and associations to bring this event to fruition. We are also looking for groups to advertise in the event programme that's free to every attendee at the event. If you are interested in learning more about the event or getting involved then please contact us....
