Kevin Cheetham (Co organiser) said about the event, “Last year over 15,000 people turned out to enjoy what was one of Sheffield’s most successful major events. The 2008 Highland Fling is going to be even bigger and better and we are well on the way with organizing and introducing new and exciting ideas!”

The event management has now passed into the hands of Green City Action, a one stop event production company based in the Burngreave area of Sheffield with long history of producing successful safe and fun events. Green City Action will be working closely with the Parks team to deliver this years show. Bob Worm who is the new event coordinator at this years Highland Fling said about this years event " This year we are going to add some new attractions for children that are free to use / take part in, whilst keeping the admission price the same as last year. The event has a wonderful heritage to build upon, and its looking like 2008 will be the best show yet."
