Colley, Longley and Parson Cross parks

The Three Parks Programme

Longley Park playground opening event.
The Three Parks Programme was established in 1999 to work with local people to improve and regenerate Colley, Longley and Parson Cross parks in north Sheffield.   The aim is to improve facilities and run activities in the parks making them safe, well looked after and enjoyed by everyone.  All three parks are considered to be vital parts of the communities that surround them and we are working to ensure that the parks meet local needs. To do this we work in partnership with the Environment, Liveability and Transport Theme Group; a group of local people and agencies concerned with improving public places in Southey Owlerton.

As well as making physical improvements to the parks we run a range of activities and public events throughout the year:

  • Health walks:  There are health walks on Monday and Thursday around Parson Cross park.  The walks meet at Parson Cross Park Pavilion at 1.00.  The Monday walk usually lasts for about 45 minutes, the Thursday walk is slightly shorter.  Both walks end at Parson Cross Pavilion with a cup of tea and a chat.  If you would like to join one of these health walks just come along on the day.  The Health Walks Team provide more information about the benefits of walking.
