Swimming Lesson Programme 2010

Adult lessons - Over 16

Want to learn to swim in a supportive and friendly environment? It’s never too late to learn how to swim and you can do this with adults of a similar ability at the pool of your choice.

After the success of Sheffield City Council’s Learn to swim programme in 2009 we intend to continue the program in 2010.

If you are over 16 year of age and would like to learn how to swim then this scheme is for you.  The programme offers 8 lessons for £10, a huge saving of almost £40.

The eleven pools included in this programme are as follows:

Heeley Pool - 0114 250 0443
Concord Sports Centre - 0114 2570053
Westfield Sports Centre - 0114 2513962
Springs Leisure Centre - 0114 2390880
Chapeltown Baths - 0114 2570354
Zest (formely Upperthorpe healthy Living Centre) - 0114 270 2040

Bookings are now being taken for the lessons. Please contact your local pool for more details about lesson enrolment.

Primary School Children

Top-up lessons for primary school children begin April 2009 as an extension of the city's existing school swimming programme. Anyone interested may wish to contact their child's primary school to see if their school is participating in the scheme.

*Please note, the adult lessons are open to residents and non-residents of the city.
For further information about either programme please contact the Activity Sheffield hotline on 0114 273 4266.
