Sport Sheffield
The Partnership
Sport Sheffield is the name for Sheffield's Community Sports Network, a new strategic partnership made up of key local partners and communities, with the objective of leading and co-ordinating the development of sport in Sheffield.
Key Goals
- To seek to maximise the benefits of sport including sports participation, events, performance sport, sports business and tourism
- Specifically to seek to capitalise on the benefits of London 2012 - prior, during and beyond the event
- To develop effective working relationships between the city’s key sectors and organisations in sport
- To act as the city’s voice for sport both in terms of influencing political and public opinion, but also in terms of providing an opportunity for sports people to influence sport policy and priorities
- To be the city’s key link to non-sports agencies as well as county, regional and national sports agencies
- To determine the city’s sports strategy and, as appropriate, the resources needed to deliver it
