All About Activity Sheffield

Activity Sheffield has been evolving since 1986, when Sheffield City Council first started delivering community-based sport & activity sessions.  We gained our current identity, along with the name 'Activity Sheffield' in 2004 - before this we were known as Sport & Community Recreation.

Activity Sheffield's main objective is to encourage greater levels of physical activity and exercise.  In order to make sure that this is effective and delivers best value for the people of Sheffield we undergo a rigorous planning and scrutiny process.

 

After consultation with other major partners, such as the NHS, and local communities we publish an annual Service Plan.  This outlines our achievements over the previous financial year, and what we are going to do over the current financial year to help us achieve our aims and objectives.  In addition to the service plan a variety of Area Action Plans have been produced.  These go into greater detail about what we are trying to achieve with the communities we are involved with, and what actions will be taken to achieve these aims.

As part of our commitment to our Customers, Activity Sheffield (Culture; Department of Environment and Leisure) have produced in co-ordination with libraries and Arts, the Culture Customer Charter.  The attached charter highlights the customer commitments you can expect to receive from our sports facilities and Activity Sheffield delivery staff.
