Basketball Coaching
Activity Sheffield run regular basketball coaching sessions for children in different parts of the city. Details of the current sessions are shown below:
Boys and Girls Basketball Sessions
- Special Needs (open age) Tuesdays (Sep-July) term time only. All Saints, Goals, Norfolk Park Road, S2. Price £2.50 or £2.00 Slice. Time: 5.00pm- 6.00pm.
- Girls 8-12 years. Tuesdays (Sep-July). Wisewood School Sports Centre, Rural Lane, S6. Price £2.00. Time: 5.00pm - 6.00pm.
- Boys 9-12 years. Tuesdays (Sep-July). Wisewood School Sports Centre, Rural Lane, S6. Price £2.00. Time: 6.00pm - 7.00pm.
- Boys and girls aged 7-11 years. Thursdays (Sep-July). Handsworth Grange School, S13. Price £1.00. Time: 4.30pm - 5.30pm.
- Boys and girls aged 7-16 years. Thursdays (term time only). Basketball Coaching Hillsborough Leisure Centre. Price £2.80. Time: 5.00pm - 6.00pm.
- Boys and girls aged 6-11 years. Thursdays. All Saints, Goals, Norfolk Park Road, S2. (no experience necessary). Price £2.00. Time: 5.00pm - 6.30pm.
- Boys and girls aged 9-12 years. Mondays. Meadowhead Basketball at Meadowhead School Sports Hall. Price £1.00. Time: 3.00pm - 4.00pm.
- Boys aged 11-13 years. Saturdays (Sep-July) All Saints, Goals, Norfolk Park Road, S2. Price £3.00. Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm.
- Boys and girls 8-11 years. Saturdays. Tapton School Sports Hall, S10. Price £2.00. Time: 11.00am - 12.30pm.
All the above sessions welcome newcomers to basketball and are coached by experienced qualified coaches. Players are asked to wear sports kit and trainers. Further information can be obtained from the Basketball Development Officer on 0114 273 6434.
Competitions, Camps and Contacts
Competitions
There are monthly tournaments run on a Sunday morning for both boys and girls teams (Under 11 at All Saints/Goals). If you are interested in entering a team into a competition please contact the Basketball Development Officer for more information and an entry form.
Basketball Camps
Activity Sheffield run basketball camps during the school holiday periods. The camps are aimed at boys and girls aged 8-16, suitable for beginners to intermediate and wheelchair players aged 8 – 18.
Summer Camp Details
Dates: Monday 11-Friday 15 Aug
Time: 10am - 4pm (supervised lunch break)
Venue; All Saints/Goals Sports Centre, Norfolk Park Rd, (off Granville Rd) Sheffield 2
Cost: £60.00 for the week or £15 per day (please state which days you are attending on the booking form)
Ages: 8-14 year old boys and girls (up to 16 years old for wheelchair basketball players) Suitable for beginners to intermediate level.
