The Lord Mayor's Awards
The Lord Mayor’s Awards is a Sheffield-wide competition which starts around May each year and finishes in July. It offers all community groups, schools, businesses and local residents the opportunity to put forward their green spaces, gardens or community areas to win recognition for their part in making the city an attractive place in which to live and work.
The initial judging is carried out by representatives from our Parks and Countryside team, Street Force or a horticulutral specialist and every entrant will receive a visit. The Lord Mayor will then visit all the shortlisted entrants and allocate the awards.
There are eight categories and everyone has a chance of winning one of the following five class of awards, Gold, Silver Gilt, Silver, Bronze and merit within each category. The winners of the awards will be presented with plaques and certificates at a special ceremony in the Town Hall.
