Shopmobility
Shopmobility is a Registered charity which provides wheelchairs and scooters to help anyone who has a mobility impairment to get around the city. Shopmobility has two loan points in the city centre and one at Crystal Peaks.
The main City location is at Eldon Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. Telephone (0114) 281 2278.
The second City location is at 12 Waingate, Castle Market, and opens all week excepting Thursday from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. Telephone (0114) 273 9238.
Shopmobility requests a donation towards equipment hire, but scheme membership is free. The service can also lend equipment for longer than just a day eg extended visits, holidays or periods of recuperation after an accident, illness or operation.
Shopmobility's 'strap line' is Accessing the Heart of the City and its motto is "Smiles Open Doors" – which was introduced by Tony Arber, a former Lord Mayor of Sheffield.
