Renewals
It is usually possible to renew items for a further loan period. If another borrower has requested the item you may be asked to return it immediately.
There are several ways in which you can renew your items:
- By visiting the library and asking the staff to renew the items you have on loan.
- By telephoning the library and giving your library card number to a member of staff. If you would like to renew your books by telephone please call our Renewals Hotline (0114) 273 4729 or telephone your local branch.
- By letter giving your library card number. The items will be renewed from the day we receive the letter.
- By using the online Library Catalogue. Please note: if any of the items you have on loan are overdue you will not be able to renew them in this way. Please contact your library by telephone for assistance.
Overdue Items
If you keep items out longer than the date you have been given you may incur overdue charges. To avoid this happening please renew your books using one of the methods listed above.
