Quick Reads provide fast-paced, bite-sized books by bestselling writers for people who want to improve their reading, anyone who has lost the reading habit or simply wants a short, fast read.
Quick Reads can be found in the Central Lending Library and all community libraries.

- The Cave by Kate Mosse
- The Dare by John Boyne
- Doctor Who: The Sontaran Games by Jacqueline Rayner
- 101 Ways to get your Child to Read by Patience Thomson
- Reaching for the Stars: How you can make your dreams come true by Lola Laye
- Dragons' Den: Your Road to Success by The Dragons
Quick Reads can also be borrowed in sets of 10. These book sets may be a particularly useful to reading groups, ESOL groups and skills for life groups. Just type "quick reads set" into the catalogue search box to view a list of sets available.
Quick Reads are appropriate for readers at entry level 3 and above.
ESOL and Literacy
ESOL and Literacy Books are short books aimed at adults learning to read English. These books often have less than 20 pages. They use simple English and have pictures to help the reader.
