Introduction
The Conservation Unit offers a conservation service to members of the public, private businesses, other institutions, etc and provides a comprehensive preservation and conservation service for:
- Sheffield Archives
- Sheffield Local Studies
- Doncaster Archives Service
- Rotherham Archives and Local Studies
- Archive Records of countywide significance
- Sections within the Leisure Department of Sheffield City Council
- Members of the public and other institutions which have included: The University of Sheffield; English Heritage; and the National Trust.
Primarily the conservation and preservation of books, documents, manuscripts, maps, plans (paper & parchment), (wax) seals and photographs.
