Top 10 Bestsellers
An exciting choice of the Top 10 best selling paperback titles in fiction and non-fiction including Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell, More Twisted by Jeffery Deaver, The Loner by Josephine Cox, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins and Tricks of the Mind by Derren Brown.
- Multiple copies of the top 10 paperback fiction & non-fiction titles are received automatically as they enter the charts.
- 1 week loan - plus 1 week renewal, maximum.
- If you need longer, you can borrow or reserve a standard copy of the title.
- Normal overdue charges apply.
- As titles move out of the charts they will be transferred to other libraries in the city.
Drama Collection
The Drama Collection consists of more than 15,000 copies of play scripts, with nearly 4,000 different titles. They range from Greek tragedy to modern farce, from murder mystery to pantomime, and from monologue to melodrama.
All the stock is available for loan, as either:
- Single copies with no charge, or
- Sets, which are loaned to groups. For this service there is a small fee for each copy.

We stock a range of fiction and non-fiction titles in Bengali, Chinese, Arabic, Polish and Urdu/Foreign Fiction.
Novels and short stories in French, Spanish, Russian, Italian and German.
Books on tape and CD
We are developing our collection of books on CD, and will continue to supply both fiction and non-fiction books on tape for those who cannot read print, or for anyone who likes to ‘read’ in this way.
Large Print Books
A wide selection of books in larger print for those who have problems reading small type.
Black Collection
A contemporary collection of fiction and non-fiction by black authors.
Gay and Lesbian Collection
Modern issues from a range of authors.
Graphic Novels
Blaze into Batman or sample some manga.
Online Access
Use our online Library Catalogue to renew your books, reserve items, and lots more.
