An exciting addition to the Music and Video’s World Music CD collection has come from Putumayo World Music. This label was established in 1993 to promote and popularize the music of the world’s many cultures. It developed out of the Putumayo clothing company, founded in 1975 by Dan Storper. The distinctive and colourful CD covers feature the folk art style of Nicola Heindi. Putumayo Kids is committed to introducing children to the music of other cultures through fun upbeat music from all around the world.
