How to get here
Leave Crystal Peak's shopping centre by the exit for the bus terminus. The First Point Council Offices are on the left after approximately 40 metres. Enter this building through the automatic double doors and then turn right through another set of automatic double doors. With the First Point reception desk to your left, the entrance to the library is straight in front of you. For more information please view map.

- Baby Time - Last Thursday in the month 10.30-11.30am. For babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Share books, rhymes. Admission free.
- Storytime for Under Five's - Every Tuesday 2-3pm (term time only). Admission free. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.
- Friday Club - Friday 5.30-6.30pm (term time only). Meet in the Artspace. Reading, activities and games. Average age group, 7 - 13 years old. Admission free. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.
- Chatterbooks - Last Friday in the month, 5.30-6.30pm (term time only). Average age group, 7 - 13 years old. Admission free. For those who enjoy reading, games, quizzes and many more fun activities. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.
- PEEP – Monday 1.30-2.30pm. A fun based course on child development for parents, carers and minders to attend with their pre-school children. The course lasts for ten weeks, leading to a certificate. Please contact the library staff to book your place. For more information please see the PEEP website.
- Computer Classes – Classes for both beginners and intermediates. Each course lasts for ten weeks. There is a charge for these courses, please contact the library staff for more details.
- First Tuesday Talks - 1st Tuesday in the month 2.15-3.15pm. Meet in the Artspace. Talks given by speakers on a diverse range of subjects. Admission free, refreshments provided.
- Crystal Peaks Women's Group - Monday 10am-12.30pm. Meet in the Artspace. Women's' craft group for the over 60's. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.
- Cross Stitch Club - 1st, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays in the month 10am-1pm. Meet in the Artspace. Cross stitch class for beginners onwards. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more details.
- Sequence Dancing - Wednesday 11am-1pm. Meet in the Artspace.
- Stitches Circle - Thursday 2-4pm. Meet in the Artspace. Mixed craft group including crocheting, embroidery, knitting etc. There is a waiting list for this group, please contact the library staff for more information.
- Mums & Tums - Friday 9.30am–12 noon An advice and information help group run by midwives for new mums and mums to be. Please contact the library staff for more details.
- Brush Strokes - Painting Group - Friday 2-4pm. Meet in the Artspace. Please contact the library staff for more information.
- The Glass Mountain Writers - Thursday 2-3.30pm An informal and supportive group for writers who wish to share their work with others. A small charge is made to cover tea and biscuits.
- Crystal Peaks Reading Group - Monthly, Monday 2-3pm An informal discussion group to discuss favourite reads. Please contact the library staff for more information.
- Crystal Peaks Bereavement Drop-in Centre – Fridays, 10am–12 noon. Opportunity to meet with other people who have experienced loss. There is an informal atmosphere and coffee and tea are served. For anyone wishing to speak privately there is a separate room available. Please contact the library staff for more details.
- Local & Live - Thursday 7.30-9.30pm Amateur dramatics group. Over 16's only. Please contact the library staff for more information.
- Councillor's Surgeries - 1st, 2nd & 4th Saturday in the month 10-11am. Important notice: There are no Councillor's surgeries during the month of August.
- MP's Surgery - 3rd Saturday in the month 9.30-11am. An appointment system now operates. Appointments will be made between 10-11am. Constituents without appointments will be seen between 9.30-10am, depending on time constraints. To make an appointment telephone 0114 273 4444. Important notice: There are no MP surgeries during the month of August.
