Directions from the bus interchangeUpon leaving the bus interchange turn left and walk along Pond Street, crossing Harmer Lane. Cross over Pond Street and continue towards the Howard Public House. Turn immediately right and walk up the hill along Howard Street. At the top of Howard Street cross Arundel Gate at the pedestrian crossing and bear slightly left. The Central Library is the large white building in front of you. Directions from the railway stationAs you exit the railway station you will see an information point just outside the main doors (with a clock on it) which includes a map showing the location of the Central Library. Walk along the station side of the cutting edge steel sculpture. Cross the main road (Sheaf Street) at the pedestrian crossing. Continue straight on up the hill (Howard Street). At the top of Howard Street cross Arundel Gate at the pedestrian crossing and bear slightly left. The Central Library is the large white building in front of you. Travelling by carLeave the M1 motorway junction 33 and follow the A630 signposted Sheffield Centre. At the main Park Square roundabout take the 4th exit onto Commercial Street (signposted Hallam University). At Castle Square turn left onto the A621 (Arundel Gate). Within about 30 seconds you will arrive at Arundel Street Car Park (pay and display) on your left. Upon leaving your vehicle use the pedestrian exits onto Arundel Gate, cross the road, turn left walk along Arundel Gate. The large white building on your right is the Central Library and the main entrance is on Surrey Street.

Cross over Pond Street, follow the road, walking past the Howard public house. Cross over Paternoster Row and walk down past the front of the Showroom Cinema. Turn right continuing onto Shoreham Street. Walk past the Red Tape Studio, adjacent to which is Sheffield Archives. Directions from the railway stationAs you exit the railway station you will see an information point just outside the main doors (with a clock on it) which includes a map showing the location of the Central Library. Walk along the station side of the cutting edge steel sculpture. AT the top, turn left (do not cross the main road). Continue to follow the road until you reach a Spa shop on your left. Cross over the road into Shoreham Street (heading for the Red Tape studios) adjacent to which is Sheffield Archives. Travelling by carLeave the M1 motorway junction 33 and follow the A630 signposted Sheffield Centre. At the main Park Square roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Sheaf Street (signposted Ring Road, Chesterfield). As you pass the railway station move into the right hand lane and continue onto Suffolk Road (signposted Ring Road, Barnsley, Chesterfield). Bear right onto St Mary’s Road (signposted Chesterfield, Bakewell A621). AT the first set of traffic lights turn right onto Shoreham Street. Stay in the left hand lane and you eventually come to an NCP car park. Upon leaving your vehicle walk down to the bottom of the car park and exit onto Shoreham Street. Exit right and you will see Sheffield Archives.
