Woodland View

Outline map of Sheffield neighbourhood boundaries with the Woodland View neighbourhood highlighted.
Woodland View lies a little over 2 miles north-west of the City Centre. The neighbourhood straddles the Stannington Road running along the lower slopes of the Rivelin valley, to the south-west of Malin Bridge.

Victorian terraced housing at Malin Bridge diversifies into a variety of more modern dwellings westwards along Wood Lane and Stannington Road, culminating in the three distinctive tower blocks at Deer Park.

Council-owned maisonettes, terraces and 'ranch house' style dwellings house many older people and young families. A new Community Resource Centre has been set up by the Lower Stannington Community Forum.

The area enjoys excellent views of the Loxley and Rivelin Valleys and has good access to the green space and leisure opportunities in the Rivelin Valley. Major proposals to develop the Loxley College site for housing are currently under consideration.

There are reasonable basic local amenities with the Hillsborough district centre providing the main alternative for those requiring more substantial facilities, although the Malin Bridge one-way system acts as a bottleneck for road access.
