Wadsley

Outline map of Sheffield neighbourhood boundaries with the Wadsley neighbourhood highlighted.
Wadsley lies on slopes of the Don Valley above and to the south-west of the Middlewood Road, between two-and-a-half and three miles from the city centre.

A long-established district with a stable population, the lower part of the neighbourhood is made up of avenues of early 20th century semi-detached houses. The old village centre sits at the top of the hill overlooking both the Don and Loxley valleys.

Relatively poorly served by amenities within the neighbourhood, Wadsley nevertheless enjoys good access to the important district centre at Hillsborough, with its shops and other leisure facilities.

Major bus routes along the Middlewood Road and the Middlewood Supertram branch connect the neighbourhood to Hillsborough and the city centre, although few routes pass through Wadsley itself.

Access to public green spaces within the neighbourhood is limited, although Hillsborough district park is nearby and there is very good access to the open countryside beyond Wadsley to the north-west.
