Council Grant Aid
Every year we set aside a budget of over £3 million to provide grant aid to local voluntary and community sector organisations. This funding symbolises our engagement with the local community. Its purpose is to
- mobilise volunteering and promote active citizenship
- provide experience and training opportunities and create jobs
- provide services and innovative responses to emerging social needs
- reduce social exclusion and promote community well-being
- enable organisations to draw in external funding and boost the local economy.
Our Grant Aid funding is divided between three different kinds of funds:
- Small Grants Funds - aimed at smaller local community groups.
- Lunch Clubs Fund - to support local older people's lunch clubs.
- Revenue Grants Fund - to provide year on year funding to support larger local voluntary organisations providing services in the city.
Find out more about the organisations we are funding and have funded in the last three years by viewing our Grant Aid Annual Reports.
