Funding News and Funding Forum
We work in partnership with South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau and other voluntary sector colleagues to support Funding News and Funding Forum.
Funding News
This is a free monthly newsletter promoting funding information for voluntary and community groups. Funding News is written and published by South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau and can be downloaded from their website. To download past copies please visit their Funding News Digest page. Alternatively if you would like to receive a paper or email copy of Funding News monthly, please join the Funding News mailing list.
Funding Forum
This is a meeting where speakers provide information about funding opportunities and good practice for voluntary and community groups. Meetings are open to everyone, attendance is free and there is no need to book – just turn up!
Meetings are now being held from 10.30am to 1pm at the Quaker Meeting House, St James Street, Sheffield (at the side of the Cathedral). Between 10.00am and 10.30am there is a chance to get a cup of tea and network with other voluntary and community groups. The Quaker Meeting House is wheelchair accessible and there is limited parking in the street outside. The room has a loop system.
Forthcoming Funding Forum events
Information about forthcoming Funding Forum events in 2009-10 is published on the Event Sheffield website. Use the keywords search to find Funding Forum and details of the next meetings.
Sheffield Funding Fair 2010
Funding Fair 2010 will take place in the Reception Rooms at the Town Hall on Thursday 13th May. This follows the very successful Funding Fair that took place in May 2009 when there were major funders, including the Big Lottery, in attendance and some important support agencies on hand to provide advice about making successful funding bids, managing finances, as well as business support for social enterprises.
The 2009 Fair was attended by well over 420 people representing around 350 groups and organisations. 52% of attendees completed a feedback sheet. Of these 75% were entirely satisfied and commented positively on being able to speak to a wide range of helpful funders in person. The main grumbles were about the long queues for some funders and an absence of funders aimed specifically at the arts and sports, which we are aiming to address at the next fair if possible.
