Safer Neighbourhoods Team
The teams, split into a north team and south team, have been established by the Council and the Police to tackle anti-social behaviour and low-level crime at a local level. The Council's contribution to this approach is to provide Safer Neighbourhoods Officers for each of the 10 Safer Neighbourhood Areas.
The aim is to find long-term solutions with the help of the local community. The teams have links to a host of agencies, including Street Force, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Sheffield Homes, anti-social beahviour specialists and outreach workers.
The teams also support Sheffield's Local Area Agreement (LAA), which intends to prevent and deter anti-social behaviour and address quality of life issues, particularly neighbourhood nuisance. A key aim is to provide a focal point for local problems within communities.
The North team is managed by Simon Mitchell, with the South team managed by Patrick Meleady. To contact us call 273 4076 or email safer.neighbourhoods@sheffield.gov.uk
