Accountable Body Services Team

Who We Are

The Accountable Body Services Team was set up in April 2006 to manage and monitor a number of public funding streams. We ensure that public money is being spent in accordance with rules and guidelines set by funders.

Purpose of the Team

On behalf of the council we act as accountable body for a suite of external funded programmes. The team consists of a number of officers responsible for ensuring that projects and programmes are achieving targets and that all money spent is accounted for.

The team have developed excellent systems and processes that enable the Local Authority to be clear about where money has been spent and the impact that resources are having in communities.

The team also act as a support mechanism for projects receiving external funding. The team ensures that have the appropriate systems and processes in place to record and monitor ahievement against targets they have been set.

Work Covered by the Team

Programme Management and Reporting - This includes reporting to Funders, Partners and the Local Strategic Partnership in relation to the progress made against set objectives and spend targets.
Paying grants to projects.
Monitoring of project activity and spend in accordance with Funders Guidance.
Supporting projects with all aspects of applying for, and drawing down funding.
Commissioning and approving evaluations of programme activity.
Initiating bidding rounds for any unallocated funding.
Managing Audit Processes.
