At the Central Children’s and Young People’s Library we have a wide range of lending and reference materials with new titles continually being added to our stock. You can browse the extensive collection of materials for pleasure or seek help with homework projects and literary related enquiries. We also have three People’s Network computers available for use by children, with free Internet access and other Microsoft applications.

There are comfortable seating areas for young adults. Toddlers have a separate area for reading and play all within a friendly welcoming environment. Children of any age can join the library. It’s free to join and children under eighteen don’t pay fines on overdue books.

We hold regular groups and activities which include pre-school sessions and baby and toddler sessions. During school holidays there are activities and promotional reading events for children and families. Group and class activities can be arranged by contacting the library.
