Home Owners Maintenance & Advice Scheme
With so many home makeover programmes on television concentrating on the inside of our homes we often forget the importance of maintaining the outside of our homes. The Home Owners Maintenance and Advice scheme aims to encourage owner occupiers to protect their property and investment by offering advice on short, medium and long term maintenance.
Owner-occupiers are entitled to a free external survey and maintenance advice. Financial assistance is available of up to £500 towards routine external maintenance work identified by the surveyor and we do not ask for income or personal details.
All work to be carried out is at a set price agreed by Sheffield City Council’s Cost Assessors and the work carried out is to the council’s specifications. We have made links with a number of local contractors who provide a warranty for their work, however, owners are free to choose their own builder if they wish.
As a part of the schemes we have set up and run DIY classes. The DIY classes give owners the confidence and skills to be able to carry out some maintenance work themselves.
