Who are we?

Housing Solutions is our specialist service for people who have problems with their housing.

What we can do:

  • Help people stay in their current home and prevent them from becoming homeless, for example when your landlord wants you to leave.

  • Advise people of their rights to stay in their home.

  • Advise people with rent arrears.

  • Give advice to those experiencing domestic abuse.

  • Advise how to get a Bond back.

  • Advise of rights regarding landlord disputes.

  • Help explore housing options:

    • Council Housing.
We own 43,000 properties all over Sheffield. These properties are managed by Sheffield Homes. To find out more about Sheffield Homes visit their website.

To find out about properties that are available to rent from Sheffield Homes, and to register to apply for properties, visit The Property Shop.

    • Housing Associations.
Housing Associations are independent, non-profit making organisations, funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (the government body responsible for supporting social housing). There are around 15 major housing associations operating in Sheffield and a number of other smaller ones. Between them they own around 15,000 properties.

Each housing association operates its own application process and must be applied to individually. For further information on Housing Association accommodation, see the Housing Associations page, including a downloadable list of the Associations that currently operate in Sheffield.

  • Assess for homelessness and advise on temporary accommodation.
