Green Homes - Environmental Sustainability Information

Environmental Sustainability involves reducing the long-term impact our lives have on the environment. There are a number of ways of achieving this including being energy efficient, using renewable energy and introducing sustainable building to all new developments.

 

 

 

We are offering free loft and cavity wall insulation to thousands of home owners and private tenants across Sheffield.  Residents who live in Walkley ward are the first to benefit, plus those who are aged 70 or over, or on qualifying benefits across the City.   For more information, see our free insulation scheme page.

 

 

If you are aged 60 or over and own your home or rent it from a private landlord then you may be eligible for a grant of up to £300 off the cost of the repair or the installation of a heating system through the Governments Warm Front scheme.

Improving energy efficiency is about enhancing the quality of life for people today and for future generations.  Energy efficiency can help to reduce fuel bills, prevent health problems related to cold and damp housing and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
