Council Housing

Sheffield City Council owns some 43,000 properties all over Sheffield. These properties are now managed by Sheffield Homes. To find out more about Sheffield Homes visit their website.

Housing Associations

Housing Associations are independent, non-profit making organisations, funded by the Housing Corporation (the government body responsible for supporting social housing). There are around 15 major housing associations operating in Sheffield and a number of other smaller ones. Between them they own around 15,000 properties.
Each housing association operates its own application process and must be applied to individually.

Private Rented Accommodation
