Reducing & Recycling

We are committed to ensuring that the minimum amount of your waste goes to landfill.  In order to do this we have organised a variety of ways in which you can recycle your waste.  We also have information on these pages which could help some households to reduce their waste. 

 

To ensure your household waste is suitable for use in making new products it needs to be sorted. Please sort as much as possible at home and continue to keep sorting at your local disposal points. Sorting produces clean, usable raw materials, e.g. paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and tin cans.

Sheffield's Recycling Rate:  Sheffield currently recycles 27% of waste from households (the Government target for the City was to reach 20% by April 2008).
