Sheffield in Bloom

Flower
Sheffield in Bloom is a familiar name that Sheffielders see each year around the city.  It is the over-arching name for Sheffield’s bid to keep the city environmentally attractive, with floral displays and good environmental management.

The 'In Bloom' competitions bring national profile to the city.  They empower communities and involve businesses in revitalising the city centre and local neighbourhoods.  Together all of this enhances the visual impact of the city and contributes to our economic regeneration.

Sheffield in Bloom covers four different levels of the ‘In Bloom’ group of competitions:

Sheffield has a history of success in the competitions and achieved the Gold standard in Entente Florale 2005.  A plaque commemorating this outstanding achievement can be seen in the Winter Garden.

In 2006 we spent a year of focussing on our community group entries.

In 2007 we entered the city category of Yorkshire in Bloom achieving Gold.

This success means that Sheffield has been nominated to represent Yorkshire in the Britain in Bloom 2008 competition where we will once again be 'Going for Gold'.
