Food Safety and Allergy Alerts

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues Food Alerts as a way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken.  They are often issued in conjunction with a product withdrawal or recall by a manufacturer, retailer or distributor.

The latest FSA Food Alert and previously issued food alerts can be viewed on FSA website.

The FSA has recently begun issuing information regarding Allergy Alerts.  People can sign up for the SMS text or email service and will receive immediate notification that a product may be of risk to them.  Further information regarding this service and how to subscribe can be found on the FSA Allergy Alert website.
