Climate Change

Our Commitment

We are committed to tackling the causes and effects of climate change.  In 2006 we signed the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change, publically committing the Council to action on climate change.

We have participated in the Carbon Trust Local Authority Carbon Management Programme and are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by 30% between 2005 and 2012 across our own buildings, transport, estate, schools and housing function.

With the Sheffield First Environment Partnership, we have developed the communications campaign 'Sheffield is my Planet' to promote awareness and action on climate change.
